Having a job since I was 13 years old has entitled me to make a few specific observations about women in the workforce. The first is weve denied the feminine side of ourselves for too long, in that we do not realize the qualities we inherit as women are equally as sacred and important as the men in our lives. We can conceptualize ourselves as both male and female spirit, both God and Goddess, equally divine and beloved. The feminine side of God has been diminished for so long weve come to believe that we are something less important because we cant see ourselves in images of God. And when we dont acknowledge ourselves as a spark of that collective essence, both Mother and Father God, it can make us feel unworthy and flawed. It translates into low self-esteem, because we believe our true self is somewhat less important. It permeates into relationships and before we know it, we have claimed an unworthy state of mind, and then begin to create that in our immediate experience. In the workplace, it has affected our overall confidence level when we compare ourselves to men doing the same type of jobs.
Since Henry Mintzbergs observations in his 1973 diary studies of executives, management styles have drastically changed. Old ways, as well as the old boys network, has steadily been toroidal transformers dismantled in favor of organizational structures that encompass more female friendly policies and ideas, with the idea of empowering the female through equal opportunity and culture change. Throughout this process, women stumbled on the rocky road to empowerment, adapting in public and private realms encumbered by unspoken, old fashioned and traditionally bureaucratic parameters. Women thought power would arrive by managing exactly like men because they slid into the workforce in a fairly dominated male environment and needed to adapt.
But now, as a body of research is beginning to develop on this demographic, were learning that we were barking up the wrong tree. Our own woman-culture, or our entire system of shared meaning and knowledge, is uniquely intact. Our 20-year take-away value: self-power or empowerment does not happen by riding on the top of the hierarchical heap as a pseudo-man. It doesnt even come from manpower disguised as womanpower. It comes from a sense of appreciating, and knowing at the deepest level possible that we are truly worthy because we are an image of the highest power that exists. We are beginning to realize what constitutes our beingness is as equally divine as a man, because we are the same soul substance. Although we love God, and we are God, we are also the Goddess. And were beginning to love ourselves for who we are, which includes both aspects of a divine equation, because self-love is about demonstrating that which is within, our spiritual power. Female qualities and values that are precipitated from this spiritual composite will someday be demonstrated at the highest levels of organizations with great success. However, for now it seems we first must be more comfortable in our own skin and finally acknowledge that what we contribute has tremendous significance, both to society as well as the bottom line.
My second observation about women in the workforce is that once we define, and embrace the feminine side of our spiritual composite, we will re-embrace the masculine principle in a more balanced fashion. The result will be the institution of a set of values that correspond to who we are and what we do well. If we allow it, our feminine side will begin to reconceptualize leadership roles that include affirming, dynamic views of our self-development process. Work will be viewed as a unique service to the larger community. This will be done through new policies we set, reflected in our decision styles, and by outlining the long-term objectives of what our organizations need to accomplish in order to make sense from the act of working.
At a very deep level, the glorious aspects that make up the Yin side of us is our core competency and were seeing evidence that harnessing those energies in ways that assist one another in our spiritual evolvement can make us better in our work. In the future, knowing how we co-create with spirit will become the mission and vision for organizations that will finally permit everyone, not just women, to fabricate meaning from doing.

Well, those days are over, and if you want to stand out in the crowded and noisy online environment, you need to focus on content marketing storytelling.
We all love a compelling story. Whether it’s an adventure, comedy or fairy tale. Stories influence people’s emotions, which we as marketers know can then influence buying decisions and brand loyalty.
According to Jennifer Aaker, a psychologist and professor at Stanford University, stories are up to 22 times more memorable than facts.
Here’s a great example of how a passionate story inspires, promotes and increases loyalty and social media engagement. SoulCycle is a trendy spinning studio that entices people to try out a fairly pricey class by using an emotional narrative.

So how can you incorporate story telling into your business marketing efforts? Here’s 3 easy ways to get started with:
1. Lights, Camera, Engagement
One of the top ways to tell interesting stories is with video. I recently attended Social Media Marketing World in San Diego, and this was probably the biggest takeaway: you need to be focusing on video if you want to increase your social media engagement.
I know some people hate being in front of a camera, but there are a few ways to make it easier.
For example, if you’re a life coach, you could create short videos answering common questions your clients face such as Am I in the right career? How can I be happier in my relationship?
It feels much more comfortable and natural to speak about what you know, and you might find yourself actually enjoying it.
You could sit in your office, outside with a cup of coffee…whatever puts you at ease and creates a nice aesthetic for people to look at.
If you’re still shaking your head, how about creating videos that feature other experts (who aren’t competitors) or using imagery and text to tell a short story? A life coach could share graphics with inspirational quotes set to music or shoot a beautiful sunrise and ask followers: What are you grateful for today?
Whether you’re using Facebook Live or creating 15-second clips to share on Instagram, use the platforms your target audience does and start shooting!
2. Lose the Links on Facebook
It’s now common knowledge that Facebook limits the reach of your post if you include a link. When you share a post without a link, your engagement is much higher. We’ve seen his happen and have changed our Facebook marketing ways accordingly.
It’s not just Facebook who doesn’t want to see a bunch of links—it’s your audience. People like to engage with a brand and have authentic conversations, not just be fed a steady stream of links to relevant content.
You can limit your links by creating videos with calls to action, focusing more on problems and solutions your product and services offer, and asking your followers questions they’ll want to answer.
3. Add More Humanness
I kept hearing the word “humanness” at the conference. It relates to the simple idea of creating a more authentic story by being yourself to connect with your audience.
Warby Parker is an affordable eyeglasses company that focused their brand positioning around humanness. They never marketed to their audience by saying something like “We sell cheap eyeglasses for the whole family!”
Instead, check out the story they used across all of their channels:
“Every idea starts with a problem. Ours was simple: glasses are too expensive. We were students when one of us lost his glasses on a backpacking trip. The cost of replacing them was so high that he spent the first semester of grad school without them, squinting and complaining. (We don’t recommend this.) The rest of us had similar experiences, and we were amazed at how hard it was to find a pair of great frames that didn’t leave our wallets bare. Where were the options?”

Remember, telling a story is not intended to be a sales tool! Your end goal is of course to grow leads and sales, but your intent should be building strong relationships with your customers and online community. If you do that well, the rest will follow.

slogan "We’re Everywhere You Want To Be!"
That is a darn good slogan for Power Linkers, because it hits
the nail on the head. When you are marketing anything, of
course your best bet is to reach every possible customer for
your product with your message, right?
But if you are not a big multi-national corporation with
millions of dollars to spend on flashy advertising, what are you
going to do?
Well, the internet is where the little guys have had equal
footing with the big corporations from the beginning. Remember
the big tech company crash when thousands of over-financed
upstart internet companies went the way of the dodo? Who could
forget that, right?
Those guys thought they could dominate on OUR turf if they threw
money at the problem like they do in the offline world of
television, radio, magazines, and newspapers. And the
experiment failed miserably. Only a few companies got through
that fiasco, but not without some deep scars.
All the while, people like me were watching and learning. And I
realized then and there that the battle for monster profits on
the web was going to be waged guerilla fashion.
Low budget, no budget, the less money and more creativity
involved, the better! And that is how Power Linking was born.

If you put the science of linking to use in a massive, systematic
way, by studying your potential customers’ habits and using this
knowledge to be "everywhere they surf," you cannot help but blow
your competition out of the water.
There are billions of web pages on the net. There are fewer

And when you don’t have money to lose on the mistakes already
laid out before you on a silver platter, it is a cardinal sin to
